updating/performance ...

So far I'm still running OS 10.3.9 with Logic 7.1 on my G5 2.0Ghz with 3G of Ram. Sense everything is running very smooth I did not update to Logic 8.
But now it's really getting late and I want to update to Logic 9 with OS 10.5
Does anybody know what effects this will bring in terms of performance.
I'm afraid that the new setup would cause less performance with the old G5. If this is the case, I will wait and do the update later with a new intel mac.
Does anbody know about that ?
