Logic 8, audio turning off during ...

Greetings,

When I am working on production, with multiple plug instruments, also audio tracks in the arrange window, sometimes the audio will completely turn off. Logic's gui is still responsive normally, however the disc and CPU indicators are not showing any activity. The only way I've been able to restore this is, in the options by turning the core audio off then back on. Then Logic will work fine for awhile until it happens again. I can't seem to find any coorelation or predictability when this happens, but it usually does every few minutes. My projects are not nearly large enough to max out the CPU/Disk. I've verified even a few tracks with simple softsynths by various manufactures will trigger this behavior as well. Any help would be appreciated please!

I use plugins by Native instruments, M-Audio/Gforce, Arturia, TC electronics powercore at this point, along with Logic's instrumentation.
