Software Instrument Audio Won't Play ...

Recorded Celesta onto a software instrument track. I can see the MIDI info in the region display and can also see and trigger the notes in the Piano Roll editor - but when I play it back, I get no audio. I've checked to make sure the track is not muted, the notes are not muted, I have it assigned to out 1/2 just like everything else, and the volume automation indicates 0.0db level (default). Has anyone experienced this? I've had this happen on some other recordings of software instruments as well.
